Most users voted to keep March 8 as a public holiday.
Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov said that more than 2.1 million Ukrainians took part in the survey on March 8 in Action.
The majority voted to leave March 8 as a day off – 1.3 million+ votes,” Fedorov wrote.
Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko said that more than 703,000 users voted to make March 8 a working day for another 110,000 Ukrainians undecided.
The Minister noted that the results of the vote will be taken into account in Parliament before the adoption of the bill by March 8.
If we count from the total population of Ukraine at 40 million, then 1.3 million votes is only 3.31%. Even if we count from the approximate number of the electorate of 28 million, it is still less than 5%.
In addition, purely technically, even foreigners can vote – the Action application allows this.
Poll on the portal The action, the results of which officials operate as “the opinion of Ukrainians”, is a dangerous illusion of “direct dialogue” with citizens. How the Ukrainian authorities abuse this was previously analyzed by the journalists of Texts.
Among other things, they found out that there is no guarantee that one person will not be able to vote twice, or that a “bot” will not take part in the vote.
It was the Mintsifra who then explained that “since the survey in Action is not a sociological study, but only a survey among users, then, apparently, no one scales the results to the whole society.”
Officials said today that “these results will be taken into account in parliament when the bill is passed. This is how e-democracy in action works.”
