Meet some questionable moments present in the animation ‘The Little Mermaid’
Released in 1989, “The Little Mermaid”, a feature film that tells the story of Princess Ariel, was the film responsible for saving Disney from a huge crisis after the death of its creator, walt disneyin 1966.
At that time, known as the Bronze Age, or Dark Age, the studio faced major problems with the narrative structure in its films, in addition to having presented a new form of animation that was not very well received by the public. Productions such as “The Aristocats”, “The Dog and the Fox”, “The Magic Cauldron” and “The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh”, released during this period, ended up becoming major failures at the box office, and being forgotten by a large part of the public.
However, everything changed completely with the arrival of “The Little Mermaid”. The film was responsible for marking the end of a turbulent and tumultuous era, starting the great Renaissance Era, one of the most popular and beloved by Disney fans.
Despite its enormous relevance and undisputed success, over the years, fans of the animation about Princess Ariel ended up noticing some points in the film that don’t make much sense — and Recreio will present you 5 of them now. Check out!
1. Not all animals speak
Right in the first film, we are introduced to some of Ariel’s greatest friends: Flounder, an adorable yellow and blue fish, Sebastião the crab, and Sabidão seagull, animals responsible for advising and accompanying the princess on her adventures and who are always chattering about there.
However, not all animals present in the animation are able to communicate. Two great examples of this fact that we can mention are: the shark that chases the mermaid at the beginning of the film, and Eric’s dog, Max, who only knows how to bark.
2. Where are Eric’s parents?

We all know that, during “The Little Mermaid”, Eric is still a prince, and has not taken the throne of the kingdom, implying that his parents are still the rulers, although they were never revealed. However, when he marries Ariel, the two do not appear either, and it is never revealed what happened to the couple.
3. Why didn’t Ariel communicate through writing after she lost her voice?

Upon signing the contract with Ursula, Ariel agrees to trade in her beautiful voice to become human for a certain period. That way, when she meets Prince Eric, the girl can’t communicate since she doesn’t have a voice. But, why didn’t she just write everything she wanted to say?
4. Nobody realizes that Eric was hypnotized by Vanessa

Upon arriving at the castle, Vanessa, who is actually Ursula, bewitches Eric so that he is at her command and decides to marry her. However, in doing so, the prince is clearly strange, acting in an unusual and distant way – but literally no one in the castle notices his change in behavior. How did this happen?
5. Eric and Ariel got married without knowing each other well
Although they form a super cute couple, and have a relationship that ended up working out very well in the end, have you noticed that they decided to get married without knowing each other very much? As soon as they meet, both end up falling madly in love, however, for most of the beginning of the relationship Ariel did not speak, and Eric also did not share much about her life.

In this way, the two ended up establishing their relationship without knowing much about the person they were about to share the rest of their lives with. However, everything ended up working out more well than we could have imagined, generating a beautiful fruit presented in the second film: Melody, the couple’s first daughter.
