The positions are also passed on holidays such as Victory Day, Labor Day and New Year, KIIS said.
Ukrainians began to treat International Women’s Day on March 8 worse. In particular, his popularity has dropped from 34% to 25% over the past two years. However, it is slightly more popular among women (29%) than men (23%). This is confirmed by the KIIS survey data.
In 2013, this holiday was one of the most loved. Specifically, about half of the population (49%) identified it as such.
In 2023, the majority of the population of Ukraine (about 70%) celebrates Easter and Christmas as the most popular holidays, followed by the Independence Day of Ukraine 63% and the Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine (54%) , according to survey data.
The New Year, which in all years shared the first places with Christmas and Easter, is now in fifth place with a percentage of 52%.
The biggest changes occurred in connection with the Independence Day of Ukraine and the Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine. So, before the full-scale war with Russia, the Independence Day of Ukraine was appreciated by only 37% of the population, and now it is 63%. The Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine was popular only at 29%, and now at 54%.
In addition, the popularity of Victory Day (from 30% to 13%) and Labor Day on May 1 (from 12% to 5%) also decreased significantly.
The Kiev International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted its own survey on February 14-22, 2023 among respondents in 2002.
The survey was not conducted on the territory of Crimea and Donbas occupied by Russia, as well as on citizens who went abroad after February 24, 2022.
As we reported earlier, a survey on the future of International Women’s Day has been launched on the Diya mobile application.
The survey showed how many Kyivans have moved to Ukrainian since the beginning of the war
