“We are talking about two pilots… (In the USA – ed.) they are studying the readiness of Ukrainian pilots, their combat experience, their knowledge to conceptually understand how long it will take , what training materials need to be. spent, what base will be chosen for a potential future training of pilots in the type of aircraft to be determined and announced,” said Ignat.
The spokesman of the Air Force Command recalled that the F-16 is considered the most likely to become the main aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the future.
“These pilots are experienced pilots and are now working with our partners to understand how to organize the training process,” he said, adding that it is also necessary to organize the training of Ukrainian military and infrastructure engineers to receive Western aircraft.
Earlier, the media reported that two Ukrainian pilots had arrived in the United States to test their skills in piloting combat aircraft, including the F-16 fighter.
And Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov said that Ukraine will receive two or three types of aircraft. And the main type of aircraft is the machine most suited to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
