Two bridges were blown up in the Bakhmut area of the Donetsk region.
The situation around the city is difficult, but controlled by the Ukrainian military. The enemy has set himself a priority goal of taking Bakhmut, but the command of the Defense Forces and the military are doing everything to protect this settlement and at the same time inflict maximum losses on the enemy. Serhiy Cherevaty, spokesman for the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this on the air of a telethon on March 4.
During the day, the city was fired upon by the invaders 21 times, and nine clashes took place in the Bakhmut area.
This is a war, and in such a flurry of fire, critical infrastructure facilities are also destroyed, as Cherevaty commented on the blowing up of bridges in the Bakhmut area.
According to him, the experience of more than a year of war on a large scale and a nine-year war with Russia allows the Armed Forces to rebuild defenses and continue to resist, despite the fact that the enemy is destroying infrastructure.
Earlier, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said that the Ukrainian military blew up two bridges in Bakhmut – in the northeast and in the west.
Recall that on March 3, ISW reported that the occupation units of the Russian Federation could reduce efforts to encircle Bakhmut both from the southwest and from the northeast. The enemy wants to force the Ukrainian defenders to retreat from the city through the T0504 highway leading to Konstantinovka.
