Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree regulating the work of companies that carry out state defense orders under martial law.
According to the document, in the event of a disruption in the supply of military products, companies will be subject to external management. The leading organization will be chosen at the suggestion of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The rights of the shareholders of the company that violated the state defense order will be terminated.
After the invasion of Ukraine, Russia began to tighten the legislation in the field of state defense orders.
In July 2022, Putin signed a law prohibiting companies from refusing government contracts related to conducting “counter-terrorism and other operations.”
In September 2022, the Criminal Code was amended to provide for penalties of up to 10 years in prison for violating the terms of the state defense order.
According to Russian law, martial law has been in effect since October 20 on the territory of the DPR and LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions invented by the Muscovites, the occupation of which Russia announced in September 2022. The authorities of Muscovy have repeatedly stated that they do not plan to introduce martial law throughout the country and in other regions.
