US Attorney General Merrick Garland on Friday, March 3, made an unexpected visit to Lviv at the invitation of the Ukrainian Attorney General. This was reported by Reuters, citing a statement by the US Department of Justice.

“The Attorney General held several meetings and reaffirmed our determination to hold Russia accountable for crimes committed in the course of its unjust and unprovoked aggression against a sovereign neighbor,” the official said.

Recall that today, in an evening video message to the people of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about meeting with prosecutors general from Ukraine’s partner states and international institutions. He emphasized that the world’s moral duty is to restore justice and punish war criminals.
