Japan has already sent the UNDP Development Program $95 million for Ukraine as part of a partnership agreement.
Ukraine will receive an aid grant from Japan in the amount of $170 million for the implementation of the Rapid Recovery Plan for Ukraine. Today, March 3, the corresponding agreement was signed by Japanese Ambassador Matsuda Kuninori and Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction – Minister for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
A day earlier, the Deputy Prime Minister also signed a memorandum, according to which the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will independently manage the use of funds for the restoration of housing in the Kyiv region. Japan has sent $95 million to the UNDP Development Program as part of a partnership agreement.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, such cooperation is planned to be built with other international organizations – financial or expert.
In addition to independent supervision, UNDP will support the digitalization of reconstruction, development and monitoring processes in the field of regional development, work to increase the capacity of local governments to implement infrastructure projects, ma -access communities to international donor funding and energy efficiency of social infrastructure , and provide technical support to Ukraine in recovery.
