The Security Service of Ukraine exposed a Russian saboteur in the Rivne region.
The attacker worked for the Main Directorate of the General Staff from the Russian Federation. He was supposed to carry out sabotage at one of the key objects of the transport system of the regional center. Thus, the aggressor hoped to disrupt the supply of foreign weapons to the Defense Forces on the eastern and southern fronts. This was reported in the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
To commit sabotage on February 19, the attacker arrived in Ukraine under the guise of a citizen of one of the European countries. In the Rivne region, he secretly examined the strategic transport artery and determined the location of the explosive device. The enemy was detained while preparing to commit sabotage.
It turned out that he has a permanent residence permit in Russia and is part of the undercover apparatus of the Russian military intelligence. The curator of the Russian saboteur was a staff member of the game.
SBU investigators have already informed the defendant of the suspicion, and the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention.
Recall that the Security Service of Ukraine stated that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion and until January 2023, they exposed more than 600 Russian agents and spies who carried out reconnaissance and subversive activities against our state.
