Occupiers from the Russian Federation can arrange provocations at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
Thus, the enemy may try to contain a future counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. In February, the planned rotation of the IAEA mission to ZNPP, and on February 10, the organization announced that it could not renew the composition of the mission for security reasons. This is stated in the new report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) for March 2.
It is noted that Gauleiter of the occupied districts of the Zaporozhye region Vladimir Rogov on March 1 accused Western intelligence services of disrupting the planned rotation of the IAEA mission. The allowance of the occupiers stated that this was done ostensibly in order to accuse the aggressor country of Russia of obstructing the work of the mission.
Analysts say Moscow wants to use IAEA mission personnel stranded at the plant as hostages to pressure the international community to recognize Russia’s ownership of the nuclear power plant.
The ISW notes that the occupiers, by escalating threats to the ZNPP, may try to restrain the future counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Recall that the Russian invaders are draining the huge Kakhovka reservoir. By their actions, the occupiers jeopardize drinking water, agricultural production and security at Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
