The US is concerned that Russia is being supplied with goods that could be used by the defense industry.
Western countries have urged the United Arab Emirates to stop exporting critical goods to Russia because Moscow could use electronics supplied by the UAE for military purposes. The Financial Times reported this.
Officials from the United States, the European Union and Britain have visited the UAE in recent weeks to clarify a wide range of trade restrictions to avoid violating the sanctions, a media report said.
The publication added that the United States is concerned that the UAE is providing goods that can be reused for Russia’s defense industry.
By 2022, exports of electronic components from the UAE to Russia will grow more than seven times to reach almost $283 million, as well as 15 times more microchips than a year before.
In addition, the UAE exported 158 drones to Russia worth nearly $600,000.
EU countries have requested information on what exactly the UAE exports to Russia.
It will be recalled that ISW said that Russia has purchased parts for attack drones in the United States. The reason for this is the ineffectiveness of Western sanctions against Iran and the Russian Federation.
The EU will change its approach to sanctions against Russia
