The head of the business, who was convicted of supplying low-quality products for the military, is reportedly suspected of embezzling funds on a large scale. This was announced on March 1 by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
It was noted that after the start of the war between the business entity and the military unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, contracts were concluded for the purchase of canned stewed pork, as well as canned buckwheat and porridge pearl with pork.
“The supplier, knowing that the technical characteristics of these products do not meet the requirements of GSTU and other requirements in the field of food circulation, provided poor quality goods to the military unit of National Guard for the total cost of more. than UAH 9.1 million,” the report said.
The investigation is ongoing. The prosecutor’s office continues to take steps to identify all people involved in providing low-quality food to military personnel.
It was also reported that an indictment against people who supplied military personnel of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine with meat products that did not meet the requirements of the State Customs Service was sent to the court earlier.
Recall that a scandal erupted in Ukraine due to the purchase of food for the Ukrainian army at high prices.
As reported, the Ministry of Defense has published documents on food prices. The cost of daily food for fighters, depending on the contract, ranges from UAH 137.04 to UAH 144.06.
