Melnyk said that Mexico can provide humanitarian, medical and economic support to Ukraine.
Ukraine called on Mexico to renounce its neutrality and provide aid in the war started by Russia. This is what the Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Andriy Melnyk, said, CNN reports.
“This country remains more or less neutral. We will need more support … We hope that Mexican society, the people of Mexico and, above all, the government of this country will change the discourse, ” he says.
According to Melnyk, Mexico can provide humanitarian, medical and economic support to Ukraine.
“Send doctors to Ukraine, send some mobile hospitals, show your flag… Ukrainians will remember this help forever,” he said.
The Deputy Minister added that any support for Ukraine from Mexico could have a significant impact on its leadership in Latin America.
Ukraine’s request for help was “a reasonable expectation” given Mexico’s history with colonialism, he said. And Russia’s war against Ukraine is a “modern colonial war.”
It was previously reported that Mexico will propose a 5-year plan to achieve a truce in Ukraine.
Remember that Russians who arrive without a return ticket are deported from Mexico.
