Oleksandr Bakulin, commander of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Ataman Kostya Gordienko, which is part of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that there are many heroes among the defenders of Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
We really have a lot of soldiers – heroes. You can talk about how people with injuries return to duty. When the commander is wounded in the neck, he is evacuated, that fragment is pulled out, he bandages himself and returns to duty. It’s people like that that keep everything going. It is these people who will bring us Victory,” Bakulin said.
The 57th Motorized Rifle Brigade has been fighting since 2014 and has taken part in the most fierce battles. During the full-scale war, she, in particular, fought for Severodonetsk, Lisichansk, dismissed the Kherson region.
As one of my superiors once said: “I didn’t attack, I didn’t fight.” The brigade was advancing, now I boldly tell everyone that we really fought, – the commander says proudly.
Today, the unit is performing combat missions near Bakhmut.
The brigade has the president’s award “For Courage and Courage”, four of its commanders received the title of “Hero of Ukraine”.
