The United States of America welcomes Saudi Arabia’s decision to provide financial aid to Ukraine.
The United States considers it a positive step that the ministerial delegation of Saudi Arabia visited Kyiv and believes that the development of relations between Ukraine and SA may lead to increased support for Ukraine from other countries in the Arab region. This was announced on Monday, February 27, by John Kirby, coordinator of the White House National Security Council, writes Ukrinform.
He pointed out that this is the first ministerial visit of an Arab state to Kyiv since the beginning of a full-scale war.
According to Kirby, the aid promised to Ukraine from Saudi Arabia will start arriving next week. He called it a “positive step” in the Middle East region.
“We hope to see more from our partners in the coming months,” he said.
It is known that during the meeting, the Ukrainian and Saudi sides signed official agreements on providing assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $400 million.
It will be remembered that on February 26, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia made the first visit to Ukraine since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Zelensky agreed with the prince of Saudi Arabia to cooperate in the release of Ukrainian prisoners from Russian prisons.
