Serhiy Panasyuk, a serviceman of the territorial defense of Volyn, died in a combat mission on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. The circumstances surrounding the death of the 33-year-old soldier are being investigated. This was said by the spokesman of the Volyn TRO brigade, Sergei Khominsky, in a commentary to Suspilny. On February 26, in the village of Siltse, Ratnovskaya commune, they said goodbye to the junior sergeant.
According to Khominsky, the soldier died on February 25 in the early morning. It is currently being investigated under what circumstances this happened.
“The investigation is being conducted by law enforcement agencies, and an internal investigation is also being conducted by the relevant brigade units,” he said.
Sergei Panasyuk is an ATO participant. He joined the defense ranks in the first days of a full-scale invasion, was the commander of a rifle platoon. The late Ukrainian soldier left behind a daughter and a son.
Unverified information about the alleged shelling of the enemy from Belarus appeared on social networks. The Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus, in turn, denied that they fired.
