The US will send a third of aid for restoring Ukrainian power grids in early March.
The US is in the process of sending a third tranche to Ukraine to repair damage to the power grid. This is what US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Grenholm said in an interview with Voice of America.
According to him, in the long term, the United States should support the goals of Ukraine to create a distributed electrical grid, so that in case of damage to one section, it cannot disable the entire region.
As expected, the US will send the third tranche of aid for restoring Ukrainian power grids in early March.
“There will be a third tranche that we will send in early March. And these funds, of course, help. But what amazes us is how quickly the Ukrainians can attract what we sent to resume the work as soon as possible. Really Stunning: such stability and such quick completion of tasks from those working in the network. And we will continue to help in any way we can,” said Jennifer Grengolm.
The Minister added that he is in personal contact with the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko and sees the desire of the Ukrainian side for continued cooperation and implementation of related plans.
“The National Renewable Energy Laboratory is creating roadmaps for countries that have expressed interest in transitioning to 100% renewable energy, 100% clean, no carbon emissions. And we want to work with Ukraine, which has expressed a desire to do this, to provide technical roadmaps like this,” Grengolm said.
Recall that Ukraine’s energy system has been operating for two weeks without a power outage.
It was previously reported that Russia’s war against Ukraine will have an impact on the world’s transition to renewable energy and low-carbon energy.
