An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 occurred on Monday, February 27, in the Malatya province of Turkey, according to the Office for the Prevention and Elimination of Consequences of Emergencies under the Government of Turkey (AFAD).
The epicenter of the tremors was located in the Yesilutr area. Due to the earthquake, 25 buildings collapsed. One person died and 69 were injured.

Remember, on February 6, strong earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.8 occurred in southeastern Turkey and northern Syria. Since then, more than 9,000 aftershocks have occurred in the region. The number of victims of the earthquake exceeded 50 thousand people.
As a result of repeated strong earthquakes on February 20 in Turkey, six people died and almost 300 were injured.
On February 25, an earthquake of magnitude 5.3 struck central Turkey.
