The FSB detained two residents of Sevastopol, who were allegedly recruited by Ukrainian special services as gunners at military facilities. This was reported to the Center for Public Relations (DSP) of the FSB, TASS reports.
It was noted that “two residents of Sevastopol, born in 1995 and 1979, initiated an initiative to establish contact with Ukrainian special services to transfer information for a monetary reward about the location of Russian objects Defense Ministry, the leakage of that abroad could harm the country’s defense capability.”
The oldest of the men allegedly carried out SBU intelligence assignments to collect data on the location of military facilities and sent the information via e-mail.
“The second suspect confirmed his personal intention of confidential cooperation with the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine in a telephone conversation, but did not have time to transfer the information due to circumstances beyond his control,” the CSO said in a statement.
The detainees were placed in custody for two months. They face up to 8-20 years in prison.
Remember that in the Russian Federation, a Ukrainian was sentenced to 16 years in a colony “for espionage”.
It was also reported that the “LPR” court sentenced a local resident to 19 years in prison for espionage.
