Allies must prepare to support Ukraine in the long term, regardless of hopes for its early success, and not exclude less optimistic scenarios.
Czech President and former NATO General Petr Pavel does not think that the allies can deliberately reduce support for Ukraine at a stage when the prospect of the return of Crimea is approaching – for fear of a radical rise from the Kremlin, European Truth reports.
“I don’t think that Western countries are discussing an option that would provide a reduction in support because of Ukraine’s intention to liberate Crimea. On the contrary. All the leaders use the same arguments, which means they support Ukraine in the liberation of the entire territory ,” said Petr Pavel.
He also noted that the allies should prepare to support Ukraine in the long term, regardless of the hopes for its early success, and not exclude less optimistic scenarios.
Recall that the President of the Czech Republic advocated Ukraine’s entry into NATO immediately after the war.
