Ukraine is ready for the threats of the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
The Ukrainian military commented on the alleged preparation by Ukraine of provocations against fake Transnistria and stressed that now the state already has room to advance its troops. The head of the Joint Coordinating Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, Natalia Gumenyuk, stated this on February 26 on the air of an information telethon.
She noted that Ukraine’s border on the side of the fictitious Transnistrian Republic was well fortified even before the start of a full-scale Russian invasion. Kiev understood that the presence of a military contingent could imply a certain threat.
However, now the whole situation around Transnistria indicates that there is no place to wait for reinforcements from this formation.
And any operation – either airborne or suggestive – as they say, is simply unrealistic for them. The presence of our grouping forces and capacities along the border with Pridnestrovie is absolutely adequate to the threat that is hypothetically likely from that direction – in case of absolute recklessness, – Gumenyuk noted.
Recall that the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that Ukraine was “preparing an armed provocation” against the unrecognized Transnistria in Moldova “in the near future.” However, in Chisinau this fictitious information was not confirmed by Moscow.
