The President recalled that the peninsula is our land, our people live there, and we will return the Ukrainian flag to every corner of Ukraine.
Ukraine will restore peace after it frees Crimea from Russian occupation. This was said by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on his Telegram channel on Sunday, February 26.
“Nine years ago, the Russian invasion of Crimea began. By returning Crimea, we will restore peace. This is our land. Our people. Our history. We will return the Ukrainian flag to every corner of Ukraine,” the head of state insisted.
On February 26, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Resistance to the Russian Occupation of Crimea. On this day, nine years ago, Russia launched an armed attack against Ukraine – Russian sabotage groups tried to seize the peninsula.
As a result, on February 26, 2014, at the call of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, thousands of Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians and representatives of other nationalities came to the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea to resist the Russian occupation. However, the next day, the Russian military entered Crimean government buildings.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine said that the de-occupation of Crimea is the only way to establish a “normal world” in Ukraine and Europe.
