Petro Poroshenko, the ex-president and people’s deputy, reacted to the attack on his side from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
Recall that Zelensky, at his big press conference on February 24, burst into an angry match at the question of a Channel 5 journalist about the former head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov and the decision of the President’s Office not to inform Ukrainians about a possible Russian invasion.
Zelensky did not answer the journalist’s question, but noted that “we will win with such a person as we are already president.”
But with what happened, we didn’t win,” Zelensky said, referring to Poroshenko and the Minsk agreements signed in 2015.
He also said that he joined in the expulsion of Russians from the Verkhovna Rada and oligarchs from Ukrainian society. At the same time, Zelensky said that among the oligarchs is the owner of Channel 5.
Poroshenko wrote in his social networks on February 25 that every Ukrainian is tired of the war and that tiredness needs to be controlled by emotions — all of us, including me.
The ex-president wrote that all Ukrainian politicians now have only one enemy: Putin and all his rashist vermin.
The enemy knows that his only chance is to divide Ukraine from within and create internal strife here. You should not succumb to such provocations, Poroshenko believes.
He said that he does not plan to change anything in his strategy due to a remark at a press conference.
I listened and forgot, Poroshenko believes.
At the same time, he recalled that the basis of democracy was and remains freedom of speech, and the task of journalists is to raise questions, the tasks of politicians to calmly answer them.
Sometimes it is not easy and not easy – I know from myself, but this is part of the presidential job. This is how it works in democracies, and it generates public confidence and national unity.
