The list included 121 individuals and legal entities, introduced significant import/export restrictions, and banned Russian propaganda media.
EU authorities approved the 10th package of sanctions against Russia. This was announced by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell in Twitter on Saturday, February 25th.
“Package 10 of sanctions was adopted: 121 individuals and legal entities were included in the list, significant new import / export restrictions were introduced, Russian propaganda media was banned. We remain united in our determination to destroy the Russian military machine,” Borrell wrote.
He noted that those responsible for the deportation and forced adoption of at least 6,000 Ukrainian children are also subject to sanctions.
“This is a clear violation of international law, including the Geneva Convention, which I told the UN Security Council yesterday,” Borrell added.
Recall that EU countries must approve the 10th package of sanctions against Russia on February 24 – the anniversary – of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. But yesterday, the Europeans did not have time to do this because of the position of Poland, which insisted on stricter punishment.
It was also reported that on February 24, major sanctions against Russia were announced by the United States, Great Britain and Canada.
