Armored personnel carriers FV432 Bulldog (“Bulldog”) are sent to Ukraine. These are tracked armored personnel carriers.
Earlier, the UK announced that it plans to send the Bulldog armored personnel carrier to Ukraine. A video showing the movement of the Bulldogs in one of the countries of Europe appeared on social networks.
In January, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace announced that more than 100 armored vehicles, including tracked Bulldogs, would be handed over to Ukraine.
This series of armored vehicles has been used by the British since the mid-1960s.
The FV432 was developed as an armored personnel carrier based on the FV430 series. It began to be produced in 1962. By 1971, about 3 thousand cars were produced.
As Military writes, the FV432 has a steel structure, a classic tracked chassis design with an engine in the front and a driver’s seat on the right. In the driver’s seat, he finds the commander’s hatch.
A large hole was made in the roof of the troop compartment, covered with a double hatch, in the rear part there is a door that leans to the side for landing and exit of the troops. The troop compartment has five seats on each side – they are made up to provide more space for cargo.
Machine guns were installed on the FV432, which served in infantry units.
A number of surplus vehicles were sold to the Indian Army after they were retired from British service. Many FV432s were purchased by private buyers due to their low price.
