On February 24, the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the United States imposed sanctions on Russian TV propagandist Olga Skabeeva, fictitious gang leader L. Leonid Pasechnik, and a number of Russian ministers and governors.
In addition, financial sanctions have been imposed on companies operating in the Russian defense sector, as well as helping it to evade sanctions that have already been imposed.
U.S. sanctions have been announced against nine Russian ministers, including Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov, Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova, Sports Minister Oleg Matitsyn, Labor and Social Protection Minister Anton Kotyakov, and Emergency Minister Alexander Kurenkov.
Also on the list were Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia Magomedsalam Magomedov.
The heads of a number of Russian regions were subject to restrictions, including the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Mikhail Degtyarev, the head of Tuva, Vladislav Khovalig, and the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev.
Under the sanctions was the host of the TV channel “Russia 1” Olga Skabeeva. In addition, visa restrictions have been introduced for 1,219 representatives of the RF Armed Forces.
The Skolkovo technopark and related companies, Moscow Credit Bank, MTS Bank, Levoberezhny Bank, Bank St. Petersburg, Bank Primorye, SDM-Bank, Ural Bank for Reconstruction “and Development”, Uralsib, Bank “Zenith” and other financial institutions of Russia.
In addition, the United States included in the list of sanctions the companies managing Russian assets – IK Veles Capital and CONFIDERI Pte Ltd, several enterprises of the military-industrial complex, the aerospace industry and microelectronics manufacturers.
More than 30 companies from third countries were subject to restrictions in the new package of sanctions, “associated with Russia’s attempts to evade sanctions, including arms trafficking and illegal financing.” These are organizations from Switzerland, Bulgaria, Malta and Cyprus.
Rakurs reported that from March 10, 2023, the United States will impose a 200% duty on imports of aluminum and aluminum products from Russia.
