Sanctions will be imposed against more than 200 people and legal entities, not only from Russia, but also from other countries – in Europe, Asia and the Middle East
The United States, in coordination with its Big Seven (G7) partners, will introduce new sanctions against Russia and third countries on Friday. This was announced by the White House on February 24.
“Sanctions will be imposed against more than 200 people and legal entities, not only from Russia, but also from other countries – in Europe, Asia and the Middle East,” the report said.
It is clarified that we are talking about people and structures that help the Russian military-industrial complex.
“We, in coordination with allies and partners, will also impose sanctions on a dozen Russian financial institutions, as well as Russian officials,” the White House added.
“Sanctions will also affect Russia’s future energy capabilities. This will be done in such a way as to minimize supply disruptions to markets. The US is also expanding sanctions on Russian metals, the mining industry,” said the US administration.
Also, the United States will impose a ban on 90 companies from Russia, China and other countries that buy a number of goods, including semiconductors.
“Today, the Ministry of Commerce will take measures in the field of export control, including about 90 companies from the Russian Federation, as well as third countries, including China, in the list of companies involved in evasion of sanctions and activities in support of Russia’s defense sector,” the statement said.
Companies on the list would be prohibited from “buying products such as semiconductors that are made either in the United States or outside the United States, but with the help of certain American technology or software.”
In addition, the department will take action with partners from the G7 regarding industrial equipment, luxury goods and other goods.
Earlier on Friday, Britain announced new sanctions against Russia. London imposed a ban on the export of anything that could be used for warfare. Dozens of prominent Russians are also on the sanctions list.
