Great Britain expanded sanctions against the Russian Federation.
On the anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, London imposed sanctions restrictions against 92 Russian individuals and entities. The list includes the heads of Rosatom, as well as 34 heads of the two largest Russian defense companies, Rostec, Almaz-Antey, and four banks. This was reported on February 24 in the press service of the British government.
Under the sanctions were the general director of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline operator, as well as the former member of the board of directors of Transneft and Rosneft Matthias Warnig, the mother of gymnast Alina Kabaeva Lyubov Kabaeva, the chairman of the Tula Region Alexei Dyumin and the son of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Deputy Head of Administration President Dmitry Kazak Alexei Kazak.
British sanctions also apply to six Russian organizations engaged in the production or repair of military equipment, including aviation and navy.
London has banned the export of aircraft parts, radio equipment and electronic kits that can be used in military production, including drones.
The restrictions provide that the import of 140 iron and steel products, including those processed in third countries, will also be banned.
In addition, sanctions have been imposed against five leaders of the Iranian Qods Aviation Industry. This company produces strike drones that the Russian Federation uses against Ukraine.
Recall that on February 19, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose economic sanctions on 333 citizens of Russia and the Moscow Exchange MICEX-RTS Public Joint Stock Company.
