The Verkhovna Rada in the second reading supported the bill on the model of national multi-subject testing (NMT).
The NMT will contain tasks in three subjects. The two compulsory subjects are Ukrainian and Mathematics.
There is one subject to choose from: the history of Ukraine, a foreign language, biology, physics or chemistry.
On the adoption of the law as a whole on February 23, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak wrote in his social networks.
On February 6, the Verkhovna Rada agreed on bill 8228-1, which defines the rules for the admission campaign in 2023, but only as a basis. In general, the deputies did not support this bill – part of the Rada demanded that the history of Ukraine be approved among the mandatory subjects for delivery.
On February 21, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation rejected all amendments to the bill, which will determine the rules for the admission campaign this year. People’s deputies only took into account four technical committee amendments.
At the same time, members of the relevant committee recommended that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopt this document in the second reading and, in general, continue to do so.
So, NMT in 2023 will contain tasks in three subjects. Two compulsory ones – Ukrainian, mathematics – and one subject to choose from – the history of Ukraine, a foreign language (English, German, French or Spanish), biology, physics, chemistry.
Applicants will have 180 minutes to take the test. NMT participants can allocate time between blocks themselves.
The MES has planned two sessions of NMT-2023: main and additional.
The main one will take place in June, the additional one in June-July. Participation in the additional session can be accepted by those applicants who, for valid reasons, could not take tests during the main one.
Graduates will take tests in specially equipped computer rooms of educational institutions – temporary examination centers (CHP). They will be created both in Ukraine and in some countries abroad.
Registration for NMT-2023 will take place in April.
Confirmation of participation in the test and the final choice of passing the NMT were scheduled for May.
The entrance campaign at the university is scheduled for July-August.
