Statistics do not include data from Donetsk, Lugansk and Kherson regions due to difficulties in collecting statistical information.
As of February 1, 2023, more than 170,000 citizens of the Russian Federation officially live in Ukraine. This was said on Wednesday, February 22, in response of the State Transfer Service to the representative appeal of the Town Deputy Maryana Bezugly.
The document states that:
-
16,443 citizens of the Russian Federation temporarily living in Ukraine;
-
156,865 citizens of the Russian Federation are permanent residents of Ukraine.
In addition, on February 1, 2023, another 27 citizens of the Russian Federation will be held in temporary stay centers for foreigners and stateless persons illegally residing in Ukraine.
The HMS emphasized that it does not include data from Donetsk, Lugansk and Kherson regions due to the difficulty of collecting statistical information on these territories due to the Russian invasion.
Recall that the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) neutralized malefactors in Kyiv who set up a fraudulent scheme for “obtaining” Ukrainian citizenship.
It should be noted that since Ukraine introduced the Russian visa regime, only 12 citizens of the Russian Federation have received visas to enter Ukraine.
