The Polish President noted that the Ukrainian defenders will receive these tanks within the next month.
Poland prepares Leopard 2 tanks for shipment to Ukraine. They will be delivered within a month. This is what Polish President Andrzej Duda said in an interview with CNN, published on Wednesday, February 22.
“Today, our Leopard tanks are ready for Ukraine. Ukrainian tankers are training Leopard tanks in our training center, we are preparing them now, a training cycle is underway,” said he.
The Ukrainian military, now being trained in Poland, “will be ready to return to Ukraine with tanks within a month,” the Polish leader added.
However, he also noted that Poland had serious problems obtaining spare parts for German tanks.
“Not only here – these problems are quite common. Other countries also have problems with Leopard, because the Germans have serious problems with the supply of spare parts. We do not understand this situation, but that is way,” Duda summed up.
We added that Spain will transfer six of its German-made Leopard-2 tanks to Ukraine and is ready to increase deliveries.
In addition, Portugal is ready to send three Leopard 2A6 battle tanks to Ukraine in March this year.
