The largest German weapons manufacturer Rheinmetall expects the first batch of ammunition for the Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft gun to be delivered to Ukraine before July.
CNN writes about this with reference to a statement by company director Armin Papperger.
Papperger indicated that 20 Marder tracked infantry fighting vehicles would be ready for shipment to Ukraine by the end of March. According to him, Rheinmetall has now “doubled its capacity, and in some sectors even tripled it.”
For weapons production, the warehouse is full, we are operating at full capacity, and we can still increase capacity in one shift, Papperger said.
Recall that Ukrainian servicemen who are now being trained on German Leopard 2 tanks compare them with a Mercedes. When asked about the difference between Western and Soviet tank systems, they compared Mercedes to Zhiguli.
