Ukraine is counting on the launch of a new program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Its volume is more than 15 million dollars.

This was stated by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmihal after a meeting with the head of the IMF, Kristina Georgieva, who arrived in Kyiv on February 20 for a visit.

Shmigal wrote on his social networks that he discussed the mechanisms of financial support for Ukraine.

We have achieved success in the implementation of the Monitoring Program, in particular, we have finalized the implementation of all structural beacons. So we look forward to the start of a new multi-year extensive program worth more than $15 billion. It is planned that the program with the IMF will consist of two parts: immediate financial support and support for structural reforms that will facilitate recovery, the prime minister said.

According to the Ministry of Finance, in 2022 Ukraine received about $27.5 billion. financial assistance. The NBU has calculated that by the end of the year this amount may exceed $31 billion.

On February 20, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also met with Georgieva.
