The approval of the document is the first solid evidence that Russian forces will not violate civilized rules, Volodymyr Zelenskyy insisted.
This week, a resolution in support of peace in Ukraine will be submitted to the UN General Assembly for consideration. This was announced on February 20 by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in a briefing with his American counterpart, Joe Biden.
“This week in New York, together with the United States, together with nearly 60 other countries, we are submitting for consideration by the General Assembly a resolution in support of peace in Ukraine… The approval of this resolution will be the first, strong evidence that terrorist forces will never violate civilized rules,” Zelensky stressed.
The head of state also pointed out the importance of joining the United States in the implementation of the Ukrainian formula for peace and the lack of alternatives to the creation of an international special court in the Russian Federation.
Recall that on Monday Biden arrived on an unannounced visit to Kyiv. He announced a new military aid package to Ukraine totaling $500 million, and also stressed that Russia’s military campaign had failed.
