New sanctions against the Russian Federation and citizens of the aggressor country were introduced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
On February 19, the head of state put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose economic sanctions on 333 citizens of Russia and the Moscow Exchange MICEX-RTS Public Joint Stock Company. The Cabinet of Ministers, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Bank instructed to monitor the effectiveness of the imposed sanctions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs should inform the competent authorities of the EU, the US and other states about the application of sanctions and raise the issue of introducing similar measures with them. The corresponding decree is published on the website of the Office of the President.
Sanctions were imposed, in particular, against the co-owner of Sovcombank, Dmitry Khotimsky, and other employees of this bank. Also under the sanctions were employees of Bank Uralsib, Metalinvestbank, Bank Zenit, etc.
Restrictive ones are introduced for 10 years and provide for the blocking of assets, preventing the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine, stopping the fulfillment of economic and financial obligations, a ban on participation in the privatization and leasing of state property, and a complete or partial ban on transactions in securities issued by persons to which sanctions have been applied.
Control over the implementation of the NSDC decision is entrusted to Secretary of the National Security Council Alexei Danilov. The Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Recall, on February 12, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on sanctions against 200 people working in the Russian nuclear industry.
