The corresponding decision may be made at the summit of the European Union next month.
In early March, the countries of the European Union may agree on a joint purchase of ammunition to be supplied to Ukraine, reports Bloomberg.
The publication says that EU foreign ministers may discuss the missile initiative presented by Estonia on Monday, February 20. But the final decision may be made at a meeting of the leaders of the bloc’s countries, which will be held in March .
At the same time, many European countries, especially the Netherlands and Romania, have already supported the idea of joint procurement of ammunition for Ukraine.
French President Emmanuel Macron is also considering the possibility of a joint purchase of ammunition, analysts said.
And Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said the country was “organizing a coalition to finance the production of ammunition for Ukraine.”
We will remind, Estonia previously called on the EU to increase the production of ammunition for Ukraine. The country invited EU countries to jointly invest four billion euros in the purchase of one million ammunition for Ukraine.
The plan would allow European industry to increase its capacity sevenfold and produce within six months the million 155-mm shells demanded by Kyiv.
