The People’s Republic of China will face serious consequences if it decides to transfer weapons to Russia for the war against Ukraine.
Washington is “very concerned” that Beijing does not rule out providing lethal support to the aggressor country. This was announced by the Secretary of State of the United States of America, Anthony Blinken, following negotiations with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, Sky News reports.
We are very concerned that China is considering providing lethal support to Russia in its aggression against Ukraine, and I have made it clear that this will have serious consequences in our relations,” he said.
Blinken added that US President Joe Biden had repeatedly warned the leader of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, about this.
Earlier, the US Secretary of State said that Beijing is considering the transfer of lethal weapons to Moscow. The media reported that the aggressor country could receive non-lethal assistance from China and used it in the war against Ukraine.
Recall, China’s leading diplomat Wang I said at the Munich Security Conference that Beijing has its own proposals for a political settlement of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
