The death toll from the February 6 earthquake in Turkey and Syria topped 41,000 this Thursday, according to updated official tally.

According to the authorities and medical sources of both countries, in Turkey and 3688 in Syriabringing the total death toll to 41,732.

Turkish rescuers pulled a 17-year-old girl and a 20-year-old girl from the rubble of two buildings on Thursday, 11 days after the magnitude 7.8 quake.

They rescue a woman after 258 hours in the rubble

A 30-year-old woman was rescued alive in Turkey’s Karamanmaras province after spending 258 hours trapped in the ruins of a building that collapsed in an earthquake.

Neslihan Kılıç was pulled out of the rubble alive after hard hours of work by rescuers and was immediately taken by ambulance to the hospital, Turkish television reported.

This rescue comes ten hours after the rescue of a 17-year-old girl, also pulled from the rubble in Kahramanmaras, where the epicenter of the first earthquake was recorded.

According to the emergency management agency AFAD, Turkey So far, 36,187 deaths and 108,000 injured have been recorded as a result of the earthquake.
