Parliamentarians from 14 Ibero-American and European countries gathered at the Madrid Forum sent an open letter to the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) Luis Almagroexpressing their “concern” about the “process of destabilization” that will be carried out from abroad against the government Dina Boluarte.
In this sense, they accused the former president of Bolivia, Evo Moralesto play a “leading role” in the aforementioned destabilization with the aim of “overthrowing” the head of the Peruvian state.
“The main role of the scandalous Bolivian is obvious. Evo Morales in the protests of the vandals, which are held from the southeast of the country to Lima, with the aim of overthrowing the constitutional government Dina Boluarte”refers to writing.
The letter was signed by 118 parliamentarians and political leaders. Santiago Abascalpresident of the VOX party in Spain; Javier Miley, MP for La Libertad Avanza of Argentina; besides deputies Republican Party from Chile who applied for Jose Antonio Kast in the last presidential elections in this country; and congressmen from People’s strength, the success of the country, people’s renewal And People’s action.
“false story”
The document also states that the “most serious” development is the “behavior of ostensibly democratic governments such as Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Honduras And Mexicothat they would “indirectly support this destabilization” by “falsely” claiming that “Pedro Castillo was the victim of a ‘coup d’état’ when it is common knowledge and common knowledge that the now former president wanted to dissolve the Congress to perpetuate himself in power.”
“It is no coincidence (…) that these are the very governments that openly propose the dismantling OAS and its subsequent replacement with SELAC biased and serving their own ideological program,” the letter says.
Accordingly, they called it “unacceptable” that for some members of the OAS “some protests are ‘bad’ when they affect their allies (…); while others are “good” because they serve to overthrow their ideological opponents.”
“These double standards pose a serious threat to our democratic systems and a risk to peace and stability on our continent. Such an attitude must be condemned and rejected before it achieves its nefarious goals,” the document says.
