Zelensky: Putin’s declaration of war will change nothing

The war in Ukraine has been going on for eight years, a full -fledged war is already taking place, the Ukrainian president recalled.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the possible declaration of war against Ukraine by the President of the aggressor country Vladimir Putin on May 9 in an interview with the American television channel FoxNews.

“For us, it will not change anything. For us, the war continues for eight years, an absolute war for more than 70 days,” said the Ukrainian leader.

According to him, the victory that the Russians are looking for is the defeat of the civilized world. Zelensky added that May 9 may be remembered by the world as a tragedy, a bloody day and as a day not to be forgotten.

In early May, Ukrainian intelligence reported that Russia was preparing to declare war on Ukraine because of the losses it had suffered in the past three months of the massive aggression, which the Kremlin called a “special military operation.”

It is assumed that Putin may declare war on Ukraine in celebration of May 9. A public declaration of war will be the occasion for a general mobilization in Russia. At the same time, many experts say that the mobilization will take place covertly for fear of discontent with the Russians.
