New principles of foreign policy and security policy should be determined by a commission within the party.
The German ruling party (SPD) will reconsider its policy on Russia. This was stated by the leader of the ruling Social Democratic Party Lars Klingbeil, on Saturday, May 7, written by Welt am Sonntag.
“If the SPD’s main program says that security in Europe can only be achieved in Russia, then we see against the current background of the war that this is no longer the case,” he said.
He noted that the intra-party commission should define new principles of foreign policy and security.
“In the future, we need to work more closely with Eastern European countries,” Klingbeil added, noting that the party has been too focused on Russia in the past.
Recall that the Berlin police, in order to avoid conflict situations, banned the use of symbols at events on May 8 and 9, which timed the 77th anniversary of the end of World War II and the liberation of Germany from National Socialism.
Germany could also move Cobra’s radar systems to Ukraine, which would significantly increase the accuracy of the Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzer.
