Joe Biden and Olaf Scholz will discuss further steps to support Ukraine and actions towards Russia.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will visit Washington on March 3 and hold talks with US President Joe Biden. This was announced by the White House on Thursday, February 16.
“After a year of brutal Russian aggression in Ukraine, the leaders will discuss our continued efforts to support Ukraine, act against Russia,” the statement said.
President Biden and Chancellor Scholz will also discuss strengthening transatlantic security and review cooperation on a range of regional and global issues. The topic of discussion was joint work on challenges arising from China and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
The White House hopes the chancellor’s visit will be an opportunity to “reaffirm the deep bonds of friendship” between the US and Germany.
Earlier, Olaf Scholz announced the possibility of negotiations with Russia. But there are two important conditions for this that the Kremlin will not like.
