On Thursday, Israir sent the first passenger plane in 16 years from Tel Aviv to Istanbul. The liner transported 165 passengers, as well as humanitarian aid to Turkey to eliminate the consequences of the recent earthquake.

In the coming weeks, two more major Israeli air carriers, El Al and Arkia, will join the flights. There are plans to establish communication with other Turkish cities, especially Antalya.
