Until 2014, Yasinovataya station of the Donetsk railway was the largest railway station and railway junction in the Donetsk region. After the militant occupation, the railway infrastructure of the station was significantly damaged, and freight and passenger traffic through the station ceased. In 2015, militants opened a passenger service at Lugansk station, suburban trains could reach Gorlovka, Ilovaisk, Yenakiyevo.
