The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to destroy the military equipment of the Russian invaders at the front.
During the full-scale war against Ukraine, Russia lost almost half of its pre-war fleet of modern T-72B3 and T-72B3M tanks. Also, the Russian Federation has significantly depleted its stocks of cruise missiles, and Russian aviation has also suffered losses. On Wednesday, February 15, the reports As cited by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).
Thus, according to James Hackett, senior researcher for defense and military analysis, the Russian Armed Forces also suffered serious personnel losses. At the same time, as a result of the mobilization carried out by Moscow, the number of personnel at this time has increased, compared to the numbers of previous years.
Speaking about Russian losses, the institute notes that Russia lost about 50% of the modern T-72B3 and T-72B3M tanks available before the war. Many T-80s were also lost.
Due to losses at the front, Russia was forced to use old technology.
Experts note that the fleet of Russian aviation is slightly “thin”.
“Russia will lose about 6-8% of its tactical fighters by 2022, even 10 to 15% of some types of aircraft. This includes the Su-30SM multirole combat aircraft, which entered service in late 1980s, as well as Su-24M bombers and a more modern version of the Su-24M2,” the institute noted.
The Russian Air Force also lost many Su-25s, which are armored attack aircraft designed to attack enemy ground targets and support ground forces. More modern Su-34 fighter-bombers were also lost.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian military inflicted heavy losses on the Russian aggressors who were trying to attack in five directions in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.
It will be remembered that the fraternal intelligence said that the military production of the Russian Federation is becoming a “critical weakness” of the aggressor country and does not meet the requirements of its own defense department.
