Netherlands to supply Ukraine with ammunition for Leopard 2

The Defense Minister of the Netherlands noted that in addition to training Ukrainian soldiers, ammunition and spare parts for tanks are needed.

The Netherlands will supply Ukraine with 20,000 rounds of ammunition for German-made Leopard 2 tanks, Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren said, De Telegraaf reports.

“It doesn’t make much sense to supply only a tank. We should provide a whole package of services. In addition to training Ukrainian soldiers, ammunition and spare parts are needed,” he said.

The minister admitted that the tanks leased from Germany will still be sent to Ukraine.

“There are no disagreements. It cannot be denied that the leased tanks can still go to Ukraine later. I am not ruling anything out, but for now there are no deliveries,” said Kaisa Ollongren.

Remember, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Ukraine will not yet receive the promised number of battle tanks, because at the meeting of the so-called tank coalition no new promises were made to provide Leopard tanks 2A6

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine asked the Netherlands to transfer F-16 fighters.
