Russia has requested a meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the emergence of new information on sabotage in the Nord Stream.
Russia is convening a UN Security Council meeting regarding the sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines on February 22, said the First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky, TASS reports.
“In light of the new information about the slowdown of the Nord Stream gas pipeline, we have requested a meeting of the UN Security Council on February 22 at 15:00 New York time,” he said.
It was also reported that on February 22, the special session of the UN General Assembly on the situation in Ukraine will continue its work, where it is planned to submit an anti-Russian resolution.
According to TASS, on February 8, Seymour Hersh, an American investigative journalist, said in his article that explosive devices under Russian gas pipelines were planted in June 2022 under the cover of Baltops exercises by US Navy divers in support by Norwegian specialists. The decision to perform the operation was allegedly made by US President Joe Biden. However, the White House categorically denies this.
Recall that on September 26 in Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2, the pressure in three of the four gas pipelines dropped significantly. Russia called the incident sabotage.
In October, Sweden announced the completion of an investigation conducted jointly with Denmark and Germany.
