The government in Chisinau is allegedly being pushed to “provoke pretexts for Western intervention” in Moldova.
The aggressor country Russia really wanted to make friends with Moldova, but it failed. This is what Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during a government hour in the State Duma on Wednesday, February 15.
“We want to have good relations with friendly Moldova, multinational Moldova, but this, of course, is a two-way street,” Lavrov complained.
In his opinion, the current authorities in Moldova “still do not reflect the interests of their people.”
“There are calls for holding early elections, this is Moldova’s internal interest, but we really don’t feel any satisfaction from using this friendly country for anti-Russian purposes,” Lavrov added.
He also believes that in Chisinau they want to divert accusations from themselves for the alleged “failure of domestic policy” with anti-Russian rhetoric.
“With the growth of this rhetoric (anti-Russian – ed.), which Kiev is now trying to warm up as much as possible by passing some confidential information about the “provocations”, “coup d’état” that we planned, Of course, the government of Sandu, which, with it, almost all are also citizens of Romania, wants to divert the blame for the failure of the socio-economic policy, which causes more and more anger in society,” Lavrov said.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry believes that the government in Chisinau is allegedly being pushed to “provide reasons for Western intervention” in Moldova.
It will be remembered that this week, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that Russia plans to carry out a coup d’état in the country with the help of opposition protests and with the participation of people with military training, citizens of Russia, Belarus, Serbia and Montenegro. The Russian Federation expects an attack on government buildings and a change of power in Moldova.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that intelligence intercepted Russia’s plan to destabilize the political situation in Moldova.
