We need funds for critical costs: funding salaries and pensions, education and medicine.
In February, Ukraine plans to attract more than two billion dollars from the US, the World Bank and other donors. This was said by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on February 14.
“We need these funds for critical expenses: funding salaries and pensions, education and medicine,” he said.
According to Shmyhal, a discussion began in Warsaw with the IMF mission on the prospects for the preparation and modification of the Monitoring Program.
“This is the way to a new stage of cooperation with the Fund. We hope for progress in the negotiation process,” the prime minister said.
As Shmyhal noted, Ukraine received $4.2 billion from the European Union and the United States in January.
It was previously reported that the World Bank will allocate $50 million to repair roads and bridges in Ukraine.
Remember, according to the IMF, Ukraine may need from $39.5 billion to $57 billion in external financing in 2023.
