Ukrainian reconnaissance drones Raybird-3 appeared in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Defense Forces units received two Raybird-3 unmanned aerial systems capable of flying up to 2,500 km. These UAVs can fly into the rear of the enemy, and electronic warfare will not prevent them from working. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov on February 14 in Telegram.
According to him, the duration of the flight of these drones is 18-24 hours, and the flight altitude is up to 4 thousand 500 m. Raybird-3 can conduct deep reconnaissance 1 thousand 200 km deep into the enemy and at the same time return back.
Fedorov noted that Rybird showed himself well during the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. The enemy then wanted to shoot down a drone from the Buk anti-aircraft missile system near Balakleya. However, the Ukrainian drone not only escaped the attack, but also followed the Russian complex that went to reload. Further, aerial reconnaissance transmitted the coordinates to the artillerymen, and they destroyed the ammunition of the infidels.
The minister is confident that drones will help the military during the upcoming counteroffensive.
Recall that in Ukraine in February, the first Ukrainian-made kamikaze drone was tested. The UAVs launched a truck from the body with the help of a starting rocket booster, after which the drone continued its flight on a piston engine with a propeller.
